About the Retreat
In 250 hours, you will learn to teach the classic 26+2 hot yoga series. Our team of asana and anatomy experts, including Gianna Purcell, Kathy Durham, Libby Cox, and Erin Frank, will provide you with the tools you need to effectively deliver a precise, informative, and therapeutic class. Alignment, benefits, and language for safely presenting the postures will be covered as well as teaching techniques and methodology, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy and ethics, and the business of yoga with practical application. Your 105F Hot Yoga Teacher Training includes the following:
- 200-hour Yoga Alliance RYT Certification/250-hour 105F certification which includes 230 contact hours and 20 hours of pre-work.
- Accommodation at beautiful Casa Om in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
- 11 fresh, delicious, nutritious meals prepared by Casa Om’s in-house chef each week plus fresh fruit and tea readily available each day.
- Complimentary towels, mat use, and filtered water for the duration of the training.
- Round trip shuttle to/from Cancun International Airport (airfare to/from CUN not included in tuition price).
105F’s Hot Yoga Teacher Training is a 4-week program. Below is a sample of a typical week.
Weekdays are typically 7am to 10pm (10.5 contact hours).
Saturdays are typically 9am to 1pm (3 contact hours).
Sunday calls for one, morning practice (1.5 contact hours).
Brunch and dinner will be served at Casa Om Monday through Friday. Brunch will be served at Casa Om on Saturday. Fresh fruit and tea will be available each day between practice and classroom sessions. There are plenty of delicious local restaurants within walking distance to Casa Om for your offsite meals.

On a recommendation, Gianna walked into her first yoga class as a means to heal her back and joint pain and to end her two year streak of sedentary living. The results she experienced were astronomical and unexpected. After just a few weeks of practice, Gianna’s pain levels had noticeably decreased and within a year of practice she was off lingering medications. Two years into her practice she began advanced asana training and by year three was a certified Bikram teacher. As she furthered her practice of teaching and asana her thirst for knowledge grew.
As a dedicated yogi, Gianna has spent her time fully immersed in studying and practicing hatha yoga. Through her regular visits to her teachers Mary Jarvis and Emmy Cleaves, her yoga anatomy studies with Leslie Kaminoff, her 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Alliance Certification through Yandara Yoga Institute, and her consistent practice of the 26+2 series and Ashtanga yoga, Gianna’s primary goal is to share the information she acquires with others to provide a deeper understanding of what it is we teach and what the most effective ways to teach it are.
Gianna is an RYT-200 and is the principal teacher of 105F Chicago’s Original Hot Yoga and has helped to design and implement 105F’s teacher development program. She has designed their Smart 60 series and Intermediate series. She regularly leads advanced asana training sessions and classes, master classes, interactive classes, retreats, teacher workshops, and prepares competitors for competition worldwide. Gianna competes in asana championships and in 2013 placed first nationally and in 2014 placed second internationally.
Kathy attended her first Bikram Yoga class in September 2004. All of her buried anxiety, frustration, depression, and suffering began to melt away with the first deep inhale and exhale. Eagerly supported by her partner, family, friends, and teachers, her first class quickly turned into 10 classes, 1 month became 3 months, and soon training seemed inevitable as she found the remedy to feel energized, confident, and on her way to feeling whole once again.
For more than 10 years, Kathy has focused tremendous effort and energy on understanding every part of her personal practice. Actively training and competing regionally and nationally allowed her to gather insight from all perspectives of teachers, coaches, and mentors. Kathy possesses a collective understanding of our yoga community and has built a platform of information from which she shares her knowledge and experience with others. She regularly teaches beginning class, leads advanced practice, retreats, workshops, guides teachers in development, and coaches competitors. The lessons she learns through her yoga practice keep her mind and body fit and agile to climb, hike, and remain active outdoors.
Continuous education has been the key to the foundation of expanding personal understanding and knowledge of yoga. Her participation in yoga clinics, workshops, teacher development programs, anatomy, and Ayurveda courses have allowed her to expand her own personal understanding of our amazing capacity to heal and improve ourselves every day.
Libby Cox is an E-RYT 500, a mother of twin boys, an educator and a dedicated student of the body. With a 15-year yoga practice, a penchant for storytelling and a contagious sense of humor, Libby’s teaching approach is passionate, compassionate, and witty. Teaching yoga since 2004, Libby has served on faculty in yoga teacher training programs in the US and abroad since 2010, drawing upon her studies from numerous styles of yoga and teaching approaches in order to meet the needs of yoga students and aspiring teachers alike. Most notable are Libby’s studies with Patty Townsend, Judith Lasater, and Douglas Brooks.
Libby works with students, using the vision of yoga philosophy, to help them gain perspective, presence and resilience through life’s joys and challenges. Libby recognizes that to be a knowledgeable instructor one has to understand the world of yoga as a whole and not be closed off to any yoga experience, knowledge or practice. It is through this knowledge, Libby discovered, she stays grounded in her personal practice.
This combination of studies has sustained Libby’s long time love of connecting the exploration of body-mind and breath to invigorating, well-informed creative movement. She also loves the support and inspiration that grows out of being part of a yoga community, and seeks to share her love of yoga as a philosophy that nourishes the capacity for creativity and resilience on life’s paths.
Erin began practicing yoga in 2005 in search of a new form of exercise and pain relief after having sustained a broken pelvis and partial hip replacement the year prior. After feeling the healing benefits of yoga after another six years of regular practice throughout the US and EU, she decided to attend Bikram Teacher Training in the Spring of 2011.
Teaching turned out to be just as fulfilling as practicing and she has since devoted her time and energy into her teaching as well as her anatomy studies. A keystone of Erin’s practice and teaching is continuous learning. She has completed numerous workshops and courses in yoga asana, teacher development programs, anatomy, physiology and physics courses and is currently pursuing a degree in physical therapy.
Having seen how yoga asana offers incredible benefits to people from different walks of life, Erin encourages raising the bar of yoga asana to a more universally accepted method of physical therapy and injury prevention and sees this endeavor beginning with the yoga teacher.

At Casa Om we run a full gourmet vegetarian kitchen. We offer extensive Mexican, Thai, New American, and Lebanese food options. Visitors love our fresh juices and superfood smoothies. All dishes are prepared with a healthy yogic lifestyle in mind. We love to make gluten free and vegan meals as well.
We will include breakfast each morning and dinner 4 nights out of the 6 you are with us. The other nights we will venture out into town.
Our head chef, Eduardo, is a former restaurateur; he brings more than 10 years of professional cooking experience to Casa Om. He is passionate about food and his cooking classes are a favorite amongst our visitors. Those passionate about cuisine will find a like-minded soul.
