Jolin Conine is the founder of Fuel Hot Yoga in Athens, Georgia. She started practicing in 2005 and completed her Bikram training in 2008. In 2011 she opened Fuel Hot Yoga in Athens Georgia. She went on to study with Tony Sanchez in 2013 and completed Jared McCann’s Vinyasa training in NY 2015. She practices daily and teaches Bikram, Vinyasa, the Ghosh lineage advanced series, partner yoga and inversions classes. She is passionate about teaching and sharing the benefits of the yoga practice.
After suffering years of chronic neck and back pain I had no idea how good my body could feel or that I could be out of pain. I believe that yoga is one of the best forms of physical, mental and emotional therapy. I’m inspired to share the healing benefits of this practice with our students. Anyone can do yoga and fuel their body and life through a regular practice.’
Jeanne Heaton has been teaching Bikram yoga since 2010. Jeanne’s journey to Hot Yoga began with the realization that if she were to save her life she would have to change it, entirely. Jeanne arrived in NYC to be an actress and musician but found drugs and alcohol instead. After a long descent into hell she finally would have to surrender herself and get clean. Re-entering society with all the physical damage done to her body was going to be tough, though and that’s when her friend paid it forward with a 30-day Hot Yoga introductory package. The moment Jeanne entered the hot room she knew this hot yoga was the missing ingredient to not only her recovery, but her life. She is a certified Bikram Teacher — Fall 2010 and is a certified Yin Yoga teacher — 2016. Jeanne recently moved to Athens GA where Jolin Conine, owner of Fuel Hot Yoga, made a the commitment for them, together, to bring struggling addicts and alcoholics residing in and out of rehab to the yoga studio to give back, One Posture at a Time. She practices and teaches daily and encourages her students to lead their most inspired life.
Mirna studied with Jared McCann in 2016 and teaches vinyasa and Bikram yoga at Fuel.
I first came to yoga as a dancer in search of a new cross-training regimen, hoping to increase my flexibility and reintroduce balance to my body. I found that and so much more! Yoga has helped me heal chronic injuries, alleviate anxiety and depression, and overall improve the quality of my life and my relationship with myself. I feel so grateful to be able to share my love for this practice with the incredible yoga community at Fuel!

The Mexican Riviera is flush with these beautiful underground pools and a trip here isn’t complete without a dip in these refreshing waters. There are multiple cenotes to visit that are much less crowded than those in the Tulum area and only about 30min away by car. Find tranquility below ground or liven you experience with a cenote/zip line combination. Both options are available and booking at least a day in advance is recommended.
Snorkeling & Snuba
The biodiversity on the protect reef in the Mexican Riviera is stunning. Take off for an afternoon when the sun lights up the corals, tropical fish and sponges and search for turtles or reef sharks. Snorkelers can float above it all while snuba divers (no certification needed) can swim down into the tropical traffic. Either option will highlight why this area is protected and turned into a National Marine Park. Yogis can walk to the beach and take a 5min stroll to reach the operator. This natural oasis is literally steps from our retreat center.
If you’re a diver there’s twice the opportunity here, you can dive in the coral reefs or, for something a little different, take a cavern or cenote dive. Seasonally the more adventurous (crazy?) yogis can also try a bull shark dive…eek! Tons of diving options await the intrepid.
Akumal Sea Turtle Snorkel
The warm Caribbean waters off of the Mexican Riviera boast sea turtle populations year–round. You can outfit with a dive shop to snorkel with these lovelies or head out with your own gear and see if you get lucky.
The Mayan ruins at Coba is one of the few sites in the Yucatan that is still relatively unrestored. Many of these ancient buildings are the same as when they were rediscovered in 1890. The beautiful location is less hectic and touristy than other Mayan sites and is certainly worth the day trip.
Casa Om Spa
Whether you’re looking for an amazing massage or energy work, The Travel Yogi team can tell you first hand how amazing the team at Casa Om is. Please be prepared to book early to secure a spot. Once the word gets out from the first few massages, they’ll book up quickly!
