“Life of a Yogi” 75-hour Teacher Training Immersion w/ Katey Inman

About the Retreat

Our “Life of a Yogi” training is to help you expand your command of yoga poses (asana), incorporate cleansing practices (Kriya) into your daily routine, learn sequences that maximize your body’s potential, gain exposure to the spiritual teachings of yoga in a supportive non-dogmatic environment, and cultivate a greater sense of awareness on your journey. It is our intention that leave this immersion understanding how to apply the principles of yoga practiced in the studio into your daily life.

Over seven days we will immerse ourselves in all things Yoga. From daily ritual practices (Sadhana) to the food that you eat, this will be an opportunity to explore yoga on both a tangible and esoteric level. Learn how to express your body differently on the mat and leave expressing yourself differently in life.

Each day will begin with meditation, mantra, movement, and as the day unfolds so will the deeper teachings of this limitless practice.
In this Module you will explore:

  • Sadhana ~ Developing a daily practice
  • Pranayama ~ To create clearer communication Body & Brain
  • Bandhas ~ Tap into limitless strength
  • 8 Limbs of Yoga ~ The structural framework for yoga practice.
  • Meditation ~ Awakening Intuition
  • Asana RX ~ Building postures from the foundation up

Our program an amazing opportunity to expose yourself to the experiential parts of a 200-hour Teacher Training without having to commit to the instruction of others. However, if you love it and want to further your education these 75 hours apply to either our 200 or 300 Teacher Training Programs,pending authorization from the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE).
Whether you are looking to teach eventually, already teach, or have no interest in teaching what so ever, this training is for you!

Training is being held @ Casa Om in Puerto Morelos Mexico.

The retreat includes:

-Ground transportation from Cancun airport to Casa Om for arrivals booked on
January 17th between 1pm & 5pm
-Shared Accommodations at Casa Om
-Ground transportation from Cancun airport to Casa Om for arrivals booked on
January 17th between 1pm & 5pm
-Ground transportation to Cancun airport from Casa Om for departures on
January 23rd between 10am & 2pm.
-Fresh drinking water, towels and rooms cleaned daily
-Healthy, tasty, high protein vegetarian breakfast & dinner
-Mats & towels provided for each yoga class
-Daily laundry of yoga clothes
-7 days of yoga instruction

Accomodation

Casa Om has 10 beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, a spacious and well equipped yoga room, swimming pool, a rooftop dining area and 2 kitchens. Bedrooms can set for either single or double occupancy, and have either a private bathroom or a bathroom shared between two rooms. Casa Om also has a new dorm that sleeps up to 6 people in bunk beds.

The rooms at Casa Om are comfortable and beautifully designed with air conditioning and fans. Drinking water and wifi are provided. Casa Om sleeps 24 and is across the street from the beach.

Cuisine

At Casa Om we run a full gourmet vegetarian kitchen. We offer extensive Mexican, Thai, New American, and Lebanese food options. Visitors love our fresh juices and smoothies. All dishes are prepared with a healthy yogic lifestyle in mind. We love to make gluten free and vegan meals as well. Please let us know how we can accommodate any request.

Our head chef, Eduardo “Yayo” Gomez, is a former restaurateur; he brings more than 10 years of professional cooking experience to Casa Om. He is passionate about food and his cooking classes are a favorite amongst our visitors. Those passionate about cuisine will find a like-minded soul.

Activites

Go Diving or Snorkeling:
Puerto Morelos is meters away from one of the largest coral reefs in the world. Take a morning to explore the reefs with a guide and see colorful fish, coral, and maybe even a sea turtle!

Visit a Ceynote:
Explore an underwater cave in the Mayan jungle! These caves of groundwater are hundreds of feet deep and full of crystal clear water. Take a zip line over them for a once in a lifetime experience!

Have a Spa Treatment:
Relax and refresh yourself with a spa treatment right at Casa Om! Our in-house massage therapist can provide a relaxing massage or Ayurvedic treatment – a great compliment to a yoga retreat for a total body blissful experience!

Explore Playa del Carmen:
Take a shopping trip, have a great meal, or just enjoy people watching on a trip to Playa del Carmen. This is a fun tourist spot where you can shop for anything from cheap souvenirs to boutique items.

*A deposit of $500 is due upon acceptance to the program. Balance must be paid in full by December 15th, 2015.
